My Reviews

Confusing, Interesting, Insightful
9 year old Oscar grieves the death of his father, who died at The World Trade Center on 911. He takes an unexpected journey that provides healing and closure to this painful tragedy.

There were so many layers to this book. It was incredible intelligent and, yet, simply told from a child's perspective. It is definately unique and will make an excellent book for any group's discussion.

Dramatic, Interesting, Informative
Great Book!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed this selection. We could all identify and sympathize with the heroine in the story. It was a sad and gripping tale. We were cheeering for Anna the whole way. There were some events towards the end of the book that we felt did not enhance the tale. The ending disappointed all of us. For that reason, we gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.

The author tells a beautiful story, though, and we highly recommend it to all.

Various stories of how refugees come to America, specifically to LIncoln, Nebraska.

Rasputin's Daughter by Robert Alexander

This book had potential but it fell short.

As a huge fan of "The Kitchen Boy" I looked forward to reading this selection. Unfortunately, it fell flat. I did not find it believable and Marie, Rasputin's daughter was a disappointment.
