Our group loved it! Made for a wonderful discussion.
Sensitive story of friendship and discovery that illuminates a history, culture and practices that were completely unknown to most of our group.
While Alzheimer's destroys the memories, it doesn't rob the heart. It was a memorable and enlightening story for our book club. It also spun off many good discussion topics. One of our members said it was an 'important' book, and I believe that's true. Highly recommend this book.
Having been to Kenya a few times and to the locations she describes, I could see, touch and hold this story in my heart. Loved it! She has a keen, sharp wit which I'm sure served her well.
