My Reviews
I was probably a quarter of the way in before I was really hooked, but I ended up loving this book! Yes, there was a lot of medical terminology, but it was not at all intimidating or dull, even to a non-medical type like myself. One of the members of my book group is a physician, and she said it was quite accurate from a medical standpoint, in case that matters to anyone. I liked the story very much.
I found myself thinking about these characters all day long and wishing I could grab my book to find out what would happen to them next. For me, the true sign of a great book.
This wouldn't be a typical pick for my book group only because we like to read books that have a little more depth to them, a little more food for thought. But if your group likes a lighter read occasionally this might be a good choice. It's a good book for when you don't want to have to think too hard or don't want to tackle anything too intense. The story was catchy enough and I certainly finished it without having to force myself, but didn't love it.
I read this book over a year ago and I still think about it and its amazaing main character pretty regularly. What a story!. Everyone in my book group loved the book. I love books that entertain, inspire, and teach--and this one does all.
