My Reviews
Interesting book translated from the original swedish. Loses a little steam at the end. U.S. Marketers must have know right away that the original title wouldn't work here, but upon reflection, it describes a consistent theme that runs through the book. (the original title was "Men Who Hate Women"). I will be certain to read the other two books in the trilogy.
I really liked the different perspective that the culture of the country of Sweden and how it colored some of the morays and ethics that we may or may not take for granted. Good book. I'm glad I read it.
Layers of parallel stories with great imagery and fantastic use of colors throughout. I loved the book and recommend it to other clubs. It is an "R" rated read. Don't think it is for kids since it is a "graphic novel". Our bookclub watched the movie as part of our discussion. The book is the screenplay for the movie with a couple notable differences that I wasn't happy about. The movie did a great job of mirroring the look of the novel and replicated the characters almost flawlessly. As always, the book is better than the movie.
