My Reviews
I loved this book. Set in a time when whites and African Americans still weren't allowed to play together, two girls become good friends. This is a book that is hard to put down.
One of the best books I've read this year. Even if you don't care for the circus, the characters draw you in and keep you there. A wonderful book.
I loved the character of Essie Mae. She makes and sells sweetgrass baskets along the highway while she talks to her husband who is no longer living. A good southern book.
This book can be summed up in one word: Boring. I really wanted to like this book because it was about two sisters but wasn't interested in it at all.
I think it was a good read but not one of James Patterson's better books.
A really good book about a young boy growing up with Tourette's. Even if you don't know someone with this disease (I don't), it's a must read. I couldn't put it down. Makes you have more understanding and informed.
I loved this book. I would say it would depend on the book group whether I'd recommend the group to read. I'm not sure our book group would read it because there is alot of alcohol, drugs and swearing in it. Our group is an inspirational book group. But, I've read this book and if your book group picks this kind of book, I recommend it. It is intense. I know Frey originally said this was non-fiction but if you can overlook that and read it as fiction, it is a wonderful book. I listened to it on audio and the reader is great.
This book seems to be all over the place with different people and their lives. It could make for some interesting discussions but not one of his better books. I listened to this on audio and the reader is excellent.
If you've read "A Million Little Pieces" then you know about Leonard. Leonard is the character from this book. Read the other one first. This was a good book but depends on your group whether or not you'd want to read this one. If not, read it on your own after you've read, "A Million Little Pieces".
