My Reviews
I couldn't put it down!!! Fast moving, exciting, sad all at once. As an American, I've only known the Afghanistan that I've seen on CNN. This book brings you to a beautiful country and describes the good and evil before and during the Taliban. When the club chose this book, I dreaded starting it. I read it in a week. I can't wait to start his newer one, "A Thousand Suns."
I loved this book. I read it a while ago and will be introducing it to my newest book club. It's great for discussion because the characters are so alive and the story is truly gripping. It was an Oprah pick several years ago. I highly recommend this book for book clubs. It was one of those that I just couldn't put down.
Typical Patterson...A love story where one character is "real" (as in human) and the other "imaginary" but becomes human later in the story. I really liked the story. I'm a personal fan of Jim Patterson and love his work. This story was a very quick read, a page turner, but I wouldn't recommend it for discussion. Bring it to the beach!
My book club enjoyed the story but I personally found the author very irritating.
OMG... I don't know where to start. We all loved this book. We loved everything about it. The characters are so colorful. New Mexico is so bright. The dancing is so visual! I highly recommend this book to everyone!
Hosseini is the most powerful story-teller I have ever read. Nobody tells a story like he does! I loved the Kite Runner. My book club loved the Kite Runner. I loved A Thousand Splendid Suns even more and so did my book club. The story is so heart-wrenching you can feel the tension in your veins as you read. I couldn't put this book down.
