Epic, Dramatic, Difficult
Ahab's WifeA wonderful but wordy book. The size alone knocked out half of our book club members. Those of us who stuck with it will be meeting in a week to "pick it apart". Very discriptive writing.
I enjoyed her adventures and the characters - but could have left us guessing at the end instead of tying up all the loose ends.

Boring, Inspiring, Slow
Eat Pray LoveThe favorite novel of one of our members, it was
Slow to start. I felt like I was reading someones private journal.
Since it was our club pick, I stuck with it and ended up enjoying the journey. To celebrate, our club went to see the movie, ate Italian food, had some wine and compared the book and the movie.
Take the time to finish it - it was worth it.
