My Reviews
I found the book very interesting as well as troublesome. I think it would make a great Discussion book, but many women may have a hard time finishing the story. It was depressing at times, yet eye opening. It is a great reminder of our good fortune to live in America and it reminded me of the innumerable freedoms that women have here.
Honestly, some of our Members loved the book and others refused to read the book. I would not have read it either had it not been a Book Club choice, but I think I got a lot from the book.
I enjoyed this book very much. It had a fast pace, interesting facts and great characters. There is also mystery and guessing which makes it fun to read.
I loved this book! I immediately wanted to know more about the characters and be a part of their lives. The book was very insightful and accurate about the ways of the South in the early 60's.
This book details a woman going thru many life dramas and finally a mental meltdown...but it's all told in a funny way. There are serious parts of the book that make you grateful for your good fortune. Enjoyed much!!
