My Reviews
This book delves into deep love and women. The Chinese background and the customs of the time only add to this special story about women, their friendships and loves, and their joys and sadnesses throughout life. A really good read with lots to discuss.
The story was easy to read, and it was fun to review the recipes at the end of each chapter. It was not a sophisticated book, nor was the writing excellent, but there was something endearing about the story. I especially like the language issues, and how she felt living in Paris.
This was a well-written, enjoyable book. The story moved along nicely, and it was filled with historical fiction. I liked the character deveopment and the relationships throughout. It was also a good book to discuss in our club. I would recommend this book to other book clubs.
