My Reviews

Skeletons at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian

Informative, Dramatic, Graphic
Was violent and had horrific images of war and the treatment of Jews.

IT WAS A VERY HARD READ. THE WRITING WAS QUITE GOOD, BUT THE IMAGES WERE QUITE STARK AND VIOLENT. MOST OF THE CHARACTERS WERE HORRIBLY KILLED, SO I FOUND MYSELF DISTANCING MYSELF FROM ANY OF THE CHARACTERS; SO I WOULDN'T BE UPSET WHEN THEY TOO WOULD BE KILLED. I USUALLY IMMERSE MYSELF IN A BOOK, BUT THIS ONE WAS TOO HORRIFIC TO GET TOO CLOSE.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I FOUND IT QUICK READING AND LIGHT. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE PEOPLE IN THE BOOK AND THE LOCATION. I FELT I LEARNED A LITTLE ABOUT THE WAR AND HOW SOME PEOPLE LEARNED TO COPE WITH IT.
