My Reviews
This is Faulkner's greatest work and one of the greatest mystery stories of all times. The language is musical and magical, carrying you with it by its very rhythm. The writing style is difficult to follow, but certainly worth the effort it takes to deciper - I found it necessary to mark the beginnings and ends of parenthetical phrases in the margins, just to untangle the ideas. I haven't read such a thought provoking book in years -- and this was the third time I've read it.It took me three years to convince my club to read this book, but the discussion was fantastic! With one exception, everyone enjoyed the challenge that Faulkner presented.
