My Reviews
Our club enjoyed this book and our discussion about it was quite lively. We decided that for full enjoyment of the book you had to just accept Henry's time traveling and not question the mechanics of it too much. A lovley story of enduring love!
lOVED THIS BOOK. wHAT AN INSPIRATION THAT ONE PERSON REALLY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Our book club loved this book about a part of the world often forgotten in the telling of the history of the war. It is different and thoroughly enjoyable!
This book was so compelling I could hardly put it down once I began. Our book club read this and for many of us it brought to mind things from our own long-ago childhood. It is amazing how the children in this family had the resiliancy to survive to be adults!
Our book club really liked this book - it really gave us lots to talk about!
Our book club loved this one for the story as well as for the history of the stage coach days. We had fun talking about why the main character chose the life she led, and just how much of the story was fact and how much fiction. A great read!
We liked this book, but because it was over 400 pages and we started it in December, we felt that we would allow our members 2 months to read this (over the holidays). We met and discussed it on January 29th 2017. We found it interesting to learn more about the unrest and military history of South Africa, while being involved in the main character's struggles to solve a heinous crime in the modern world, and at the same time understand the terrible crimes committed prior. All in all we deemed it a good read. (I loved It!)
We loved this book. As all Kristin Hannah's books it was an emotional, yet informative story of a time most of us have heard about, but before our time. Beautiful story!
