My Reviews
We picked this book for our "community Read", the topic choice had people talking from the beginning. We had to keep telling people to read the book and then they would understand. Once people read the book they came back and the conversations about the parents, students, and main characters didn't stop. It is a thought provoking, conversation starter for parents, educators, and community members as a whole.
The historical information was outstanding. None of us were aware of how many historical happenings were occurring at the same time. You received a history lesson and a facinating story all at the same time.
The storyline picks you up at the beginning and you don't want to stop until the end. And the ending makes the whole story worth it.
Classic Nora Roberts with a completely new villian. Fun, easy read, that keeps your attention.
I loved the way the book went back and forward between the past and the present. You could read a chapter and stop, without losing your spot. The story itself was very engrossing and you wanted to get to the end to figure out the missing details. An excellent novel that I would highly recommend for both the story and the history.
I loved the time/character switches, and you were not sure of the the whole story until the end. A unique combination of characters that you were not sure of their role though out the story.
