My Reviews

Dark, Interesting, Confusing
great idea, poor execution

I found the author was attempting to create his own Greek tragedy and did succeed in some respects. I found that the crude language (not something I am against mind you) felt out of place and unnecessary and there was way too much filler. I read another review that had said-- it felt as if the author had started developing characters and then forgot where he was going with them-- and I agree. However, there was good social, religious and political elements that can bring out decent discussions.

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown

Interesting, Adventurous, Informative
Faced paced and fun read

I enjoyed Angels & Demons as much as the DV Code. Maybe it's because I am a huge history geek (I own books on symbology *nerd*) so I was already well aware of all the occult and symbolism aspects of the book. That said, I enjoy Dan Brown's weaving of historical facts into an exciting fictional story line. I do not think the story is one sided - science/religion/everything in between is well balanced with different characters with different beliefs. My only beef is with the very end, when there was no "whistle blowing" about who was the mastermind --- that really really bugs me.... but oh well, I still enjoyed it.
