I think if you are familiar with New York City you will enjoy this look into the past. It is illustrated so that what is real is combined with fiction so it is almost believable. I enjoyed it and this is my second reading(with many years inbetween)
Jodie writes looking at the story through each of the characters view as the story unfolds. She switches back and forth which keeps the story flowing. I enjoy her facts thrown in to make the story more believable and the locations identifiable. It is a thought provoking book.
I enjoyed the story and the characters involved. Read Into the Woods first to get a feel for the main character and what she has been through and why she does what she does. It is not necessary but is good for background . Plus I enjoyed it so much I couldn't wait to get to The Likeness.
