My Reviews
Our book club read and enjoyed this book. There was a very lively discussion. The author takes you inside Boone's mind and shows you what makes him tick. We all could see a little of his traits in ourselves. Most of us are teachers, so it made it relevant to us.
I thought this was a compelling book. The author makes you care about the characters. The book is hard to put down until the end. Writing is excellent.
A great read about an Irish-American family of the 1960's.
As a former Catholic school girl, I could connect with Maura's childhood in so many ways. It is touching, funny and a poignant memoir involving a father-daughter relationship and what it meant at those times to have a Down's Syndrome child in your family. I loved this book!
