My Reviews
This book was one of the funniest I have read. The crazy antics, sarcastic yet loving relationships, and hilarious internal dialogue made it difficult to put down. I laughed out loud in public several times. This book is as inspiring as it is funny; I felt like I was having a conversation with my friends about the struggle to maintain a healthy weight and one's confidence.
This book is a useful financial guide for everyone, though it is written primarily for African American women. The author's straight-foward, humorous, and optimistic approach to money problems is reassuring and engaging. The information in the book is easy to understand and extremely useful.
This is a wonderful story about a young woman growing up in the South in the post-WWII era. She sees the racial violence and discrimination that plagues Mississippi and questions the complacency of those around her. She joins the civil rights movement only to question the ability of Southerners to change at all. It is an inspiring tale of self discovery and an insightful look into the minds of young African Americans during the period.
This book was interesting and fun to read but a bit predictable.
The collection of essays was good and I laughed a few times, but the stories seemed contrived in a few cases. It just wasn't quite as funny as I had hoped. But, it may be funnier to someone who has already raised their kids and is a little older.
This book was funny! I love that it's written in a he says / she says format. Both authors are witty and fun. It reminds you that everyone has issues, and some are more serious than others so keep your issues in perspective. It is an honest examination of the struggle average people face in maintaining a marriage.
