My Reviews
Basically, I did not like this book at all. I didn't really care for the story itself and I found the paragraphs choppy. I found it hard to know exactly who was talking.. the mother?, the father?, Wendy? Although, it would make a great book to discuss because after reading the book, I felt angry. Throughout the book I felt angry. It would make great discussion but to really recommend the book, no, I wouldn't recommend the book as a great read but a book that could be discussed because of the issues in the book.
This book was interesting in the perspective that was used. It gives a good account of how an autistic child thinks in various instances. I think the story line was good, not great, but again, it was an interesting read. It was a good book.
I loved this book. I loved the story, the characters, the tone of the book. I have read this book which led me to read Philippa Gregory's other books... Queen's Fool, The Virgin's Lover.. and I have to say I have loved every book by Philippa. Her books are very hard to put down and when you find yourself in situation where you can not read... you can't concentrate because all you want to do is go home and pick up this book. A great read and awesome author.
This book brought great discussion to our book club. I really was never interested in the Taj Mahal but after reading this historical fiction book, I found myself "Googling" the Taj! In our book club we all had a unanimous liking for the book. Historical fiction, love, despair, war, sibling rivalry... it was good.
At our book club, unfortunately I was the only member that finished the book completely. I think the book started out slow and wasn't as fast moving as what most would enjoy but I liked the book. I love to hike and I found it inspiring and very touching. It did make our book club want to volunteer our time for something. We discussed this subject and will come up with something for the spring to either donate $, time or volunteer for a cause.
The first novel is graphic but the second two are not as graphic but the first novel sets the stage. The second and third novel answer the questions the first novel left you amazed in! Awesome reading adventure!
I found the book a little dark at times but really enjoyed reading the book. There's some back ground in the book that I'm not familiar with but left me "Googling" for information.
Our book club read this book. We all loved it. Enjoyed reading it and the story is just beautiful.
My book club loved all three books. The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and The Mockingjay. All three books were wonderfully written and the ending has quite a message. Even though these were said to be teen books, I loved them all.
