My Reviews
A sweeping story set in Mexico in the late 1800s. Sort of historical fiction, old west cowboys and indians, spiritual happenings, you name it - this book has it! Very well done, and this novel will forever be on my short list of "all time favorites." Our book club of 10 had somewhat mixed reactions -- 6 loved it, the other 4 did not finish because they said they couldn't get past some of the political stuff of pre-revolutionary Mexico in the beginning of the novel. Their loss!! Our discussion of this book was definitely enhanced by our speaker-phone discussion with the author -- a true delight. I highly recommend you read THE HUMMINGBIRD'S DAUGHTER. If you don't like everything the story has to offer, you still can't help but appreciate the author's prose. Like music to your ears/
