My Reviews
Our group had a great time reading and discussing this book! And it was enhanced by the opportunity to talk to the author and get all our burning questions answered about life on and after the bus! Many of us have traveled quite a bit with our spouses, but never in 340 square feet for a whole year and we were quite impressed that Tim and Doreen's marriage survived and thrived as a result! In some form or fashion, our entire group could relate to some aspect of their adventure - whether we were married to our own Project Nerd or would love to be contemplating a similar "leave it all behind" experience and it made for a great discussion! We are looking forward to the next big adventure from Doreen and Tim!
I was expecting a bit more realistic story but this one didn't seem plausible to me. A woman buys a run down farmhouse on a whim and decides to move into it for the summer. Along the way, she makes some interesting friends and gets to spend some unplanned time with her 2 year old nephew that doesn't speak english. The book kept my interest due primarily to the varied unique characters and multitude of sub-stories, but the overall story line seemed to unrealistic to me.
