My Reviews
Karin Slaughter's book was great. The story was a page-turner. The characters in the book were well defined which led to a well written book. You will not regret picking up this book.
This book had so many twist and turns. The book was kind of drawn out, but nonetheless it was still a great story. Griff Burkett, main character learns from his past mistakes he made as a football player. Mr. Speakerman and Mr. Rodarte really makes it hard for him to be a better man.
At first the book was kind of slow, but once I got to the second half of the book it was very good. This book shows that if your parents push and you have the will to succeed you can do it. All you have to do is THINK BIG!
Little Black Girl Lost is a story based out of New Orleans, LA. The main character Johnnie is a daughter and granddaughter of prositutes. Johnnie's mother sold her to a man at the age of 15 on Christmas. This book is a classic. It will bring out a lot of emotions.
This is the third and last book of the Desperate Hoodwives Series. This book is very grahpic but overall a good book. There are four characters in the book. Compare to the other two series, I would say this one was my least favorite.
This book is supposely turn into a series of books about a sorority. The book is about the relationship of Sara and past boyfriend named Jackson. Jackson chose the family business over a relationship with Sara. He finally realizes that Sara is important and he goes through loops trying to get her back. The story is very slow at getting to the point.
I have read all of Miasha books and I have to say that my hopes were aimed to high for this book. Leah, a lost girl who was dating this loser Kenny who kept getting her involved in these scams that ended with her in trouble with the law. With no where else to turn she becomes an informant for the police against Kenny. She ends up messing with a friend of his Nasir and I am sure you can guess the ending. The plot sounds so familiar.... Wifey series just in one book. Nonetheless, it was a fast read and a page-turner. Still a huge fan of Miasha.... but this was just okay to me.
The first book was great and this one is really good. Johnnie grows significantly in this book. She is still doing things that she shouldn't but she is trying to end the cycle that her grand mother and mother started. I really did not care for the ending but, I have the third books so I guess it will pick up from there.
This book was hard to read at first, but after a couple of chapter you can get the hang of it. The main character Precious lives a hard life... two children by her father and her mother abuses her also and the ultimate death sentence...Aids. Precious is invisible to the world until she goes to alternative school and realizes that she does matter.
This book had so much drama to it. It is very hard to believe events like this goes on in the church. I really enjoyed reading the book. It wasn't the best book I have read, but it was very interesting.
