My Reviews
It is light reading but gives you lot to talk about and discuss. The characters seem real and you can't wait to find out what happens to them and then believe in the end that they are happy.
So many ifs and buts, and twists and turns, I couldn't put it down trying to solve it and seeing who was alive and who wasn't!!!! I am ashamed to say this is my first but WILL NOT be my last Mary Higgins Clark mystery!
Are they alive or not, who is behind it? Keeps you guessing right till the end even though the culprit actually has chapters of their own to brag about the missing persons.
Lots to talk about and very intriguing the way the author wrote and tied so much of the story together. Lots of twists and unexpected surprises and shocks right to the end.
Just way to simple and not much to talk about. The end was boring and not as creative or exciting as it could have been. The initials AMC was way to simple and the fact that the drugs are all over the town it was worst then a CSI television show. So many signs and no real mystery or suspense.
Some discussion questions we came up with:
Is the name of the book Christmas Cookie Murder a good title?
What would you do if your friend wanted to pass out pamphlets for a cause at your home party? Would you throw them out or keep them out?
Is the competition between parents over what school their children attend healthy?
How would you handle an out of order bathroom during a party?
What was the significance of the ceiling caving in at the cookie exchange?
Do firemen really take things from scenes of fires?
Why wasn’t the fire investigated? Who started it?
Was it fair to expel Elizabeth?
Would you keep the news that your child is smoking pot from your husband?
Did you feel the initials of AMC a little to obvious that it matched Aurelie’s name? Were you intrigued when it ended up being the initials of a hiking organization?
How did you feel once Tom Scott’s image was tarnished?
Is it okay to double the recipe on cookies?
Who wants to volunteer to have our Christmas Cookie Exchange this year?
Excellent, well written keeps you interested and aware of the difficulties growing up with mental illness and racism.
There is so much to talk about not just the book but sharing your own dreams and experiences.
All the characters were intriguing and at many times it was a page turner. Loved the twist of an ending.
Lot to talk about, fashion, how far women have come in society, journaling, friendship, comparing life then and now.
Good life advice
Surprising twist at the end not what I expected
