Dramatic, Interesting, Dark

South of Broad

This was in part a love story to Charleston, South Carolina and that part of the book I liked. He writes in detail about Charleston and his characters. You do truly get a feeling of being there. The beginning was slow and the middle I just did not enjoy reading.

The potato book

I liked this book a lot. I was able to learn a lot about the time period and the experience of these people. Some people did not enjoy the letters but I did not mind them. Sometimes I felt like I was not fully in the loop though.

I just thought it was really slow and unconvincing. Some of the stuff just is fairy tale like. Not impressed.
