My Reviews
A very easy read. A book that would be good read for a rainy weekend or at the beach. I found it interesting for the information about fly fishing. This book is a fast page turner.
This book is very informative, well written ans thought provoting. It does become a page turner as they say. It tells a fictional story around a real event. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoy's history.
I would not recomend this book to anyone, it was a waste of time and my hard earn money. It was just plain awful.
This is quite a charming little book. The characters are all very interesting and the story is not only sweet but also very informative on many levels. I would recommend this book to anyone.
This a wonderful book written by a man that lead a supremely interesting life. He had his faults as we all do but he learned from them. I am happy he was a senator that helped shape our country. It is an informative book that gives you insight into the last 70 years.
The author takes you back to the early 1960's in Jackson Mississippi. She tells a story of the maids who work for young families. The racial issues that are apart of life are brought to the surface in such an interesting and thoughtful way. The author puts you in the shoes of the characters. This book is a must read for all races so we may come together.
This book was hard to get into BUT after about 60 pages it finally grabs you. It takes place in Sweden and there is a large family involved which means lots of unusual names and all sorts of characters. The story has lots of twists and turns, it is a good read but a little graphic in spots. The main characters are quite interesting.
Our club decided to read a classic book annually and this one was a home run. The characters take you to 1935 in a small Alabama town. Atticus and Scout are my favorite characters, all children should have such a father as Atticus. Scout takes you back to your childhood days. This a fast read and one book everyone should read every five years or so, it speaks to issues that are still in our country 75 years later.
I really disliked this book, the narration was offensive to me. The author use death as the narrator. I could not finish the book. I did enjoy the historic value of the book. I would never recommend it to anyone.
This was a very well written book and very informative. The book at various times was difficult and sad but it tells a story that is all to true for many families. A must read.
This is a very lovely and informative book. The novel is very well written and it truly enlightens the reader.
This is a book that is very informative in to areas first the medical world, we all have benefitted from HeLa cells and the book really enlightens us to that fact. Second the effect of this medical procedure had on Henrietta's family. Super interesting read.
This book is fiction but it assaulted my Christian faith and my American heritage. This book is offensive, the worse book I have ever read. It is a book about the future of our great country that has children kill each other and then they glorify it. I would not even give it one star but the site wouldn't let me not.
This book is a very interesting and educational. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn something about India. A fast read but at times very sad.
This was an interesting read for the history of Gypsy Rose Lee and the times she lived. It was poorly written because all of our members (25) felt it jumped back and fourth too much. It could have been an easier read if it had just started at the beginning of her life instead of going from the 20's to the 50's etc.
This was a very informative book of life on a Virginia Plantation early 1800's. A slave family and their owner's family and how they all live together through the years.
I found the book to be very intersting and a very quick read. It really was quite informative and caused one to think about different people.
