My Reviews
Very well written. First half of the book details Palin's life and accomplishments in Alaska and the second half details her experience in the 2008 campaign. Helps set the record straight on many issues misreported and misrepresented in the media. Even if you hate Palin's politics, props to Palin for her life/career accomplishments.
Didn't feel drawn or connected to the characters. Didn't think the plot was believable. Didn't like how the author changed narrative voice without actually changing narrative voice (certain characters recalled past events speaking to Daniel, the primary narrative voice, but told of detail they couldn't possibly know). Trivial, but annoying. I did finish the book and I didn't hate it. Just not one of my favorites and its not hard for me to like a book.
The author does a fantastic job of intertwining the past life and the present life of the two main characters and alternating the stories and timelines leading to the heart-pumping climax. All of the characters are very well developed. This is an immensely sad story about an unimaginably horrible period in world history. Excellent book.
