Meaningful DiscussionWe had a good discussion for this book--not all essays were liked, but everyone in the group found essays that really touched them. Other essays, while not deeply moving, sparked good conversation. You didn't have to agree with the author to appreciate his or her point of view. Many members agreed that they learned something. One member is trying to write her own essay.

Informative, Interesting, Dramatic
ExcellentWe loved this book. It is more a history of the US than a "horse" book. The author was well researched and the book was well-written. It was exciting to "watch" a horse bring a nation together. The author also did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life.
