inspired many insightful conversations from everyone. It also
gave us the oportunity to share similar life stories and get to
know each other in more depth.
Too much misery, too much left up to interpretation
This book was an easy read with very likeable characters. I thought the writter did a great job developing the characters and was very descriptive of the various settings.
The writer is very descriptive and insighful. It's an easy read that draws you into the setting and shapes the characters so you
understand them, their motivations and their shortcomings.
This was an easy, quick-read book that was enjoyed by members of all ages. The story was endearing and showed humanity at its best & worst.
Good premise but shallow character development. I would have enjoyed my adventures.
I enjoyed this book cover to cover. I think more could/should have been written about prior relationships but the characters were expertly developed. The historic references were acurate and insightful.
The book was so well written that I felt I was living in the South in the 1960's and was experiencing the relationship between black 'Help' and their employers. This was the the first time in a long time that I was sad the book had to end.
Great read and very insightful.
Once I adjusted to the 'letter/correspondence' rather than discriptive paragraphs and dialogue, I was drawn into the
relationships between the characters and felt I was part of the
group. It was a simple and enjoyable read and I will certainly read future works by this author.
A quick-read book that deals with some issue of human tragedies but you're given the chance to see the difference even one person can make. This book emphasizes the addage that what you
give of yourself comes back tenfold. Great writing - Great material.
This book was a 'page-turner' that keeps the reader rivotted. Some of the material was graphic and disturbing but, in the
end, moral justice perserveres. The characters are well developed and the story is credible. I definately will read
the full trilogy and other books that may come to print posthumousely by this author.
