My Reviews
The main character's lives inter-twine in the most intriguing and unexpected ways, making for suspense-filled reading to the end.A great read which has one longing to read the sequel.
A book about a German family harbouring a Jewish fugitive in the second world war as seen through the eyes of a young girl. A compelling read that will pull at the heart strings.
In this sequel to "The girl with the dragon tattoo", the author continues to thrill by creating a crime thriller that is unpredictable to the end. Intelligently crafted reading that oozes with suspense and intrigue. I cannot wait to read the last of the trilogy!!!
Reading about racial divides in everyday American life gave me new hope as a South African. This is an outstanding account of life seen from the viewpoint of maids working in white homes in the sixties. A courageous, sensitive, well written witty and sad book. I loved it.
Outstanding characterisations, intriguing, intelligent plot and completely unputdownable.
Sensational writing.
A sad account of life for Jewish families during and after the round up of Jewish people in Paris during WW2. A story (like so many other) that needs to be told so that we never forget.
A compilation of letters written after the second world war illuminating the effects of the occupation of Guernsey during this time. Gentle, clever and heart wrenching.
