It is a mystery that is very well written and gripping. However, be warned that there are some very graphic descriptions of torture to one of the central characters. Because it is a mystery, I wasn't sure it would lend itself to a good discussion, but it did. The characters were interesting and there were some serious issues.
The first half inched along a little too slowly but once I reached the half way mark the story picked up considerably. It was good as far as it went, but somehow it lacked depth. I felt somewhat manipulated.
I couldn't put it down and didn't want this story to end. It is beautifully written and the vivid characters are ones that you care about intensely. It is a book I will treasure and probably go back to.
