My Reviews
It's rare I don't finish a book but I could barely force myself to skim that latter half of it just so I'd know what I was talking about at our book club meeting. I think out of 11 of us only 1 could say she liked it.
Everyone in our book club loved it. It's one of those books you can't put down.
I loved the historical story in the book. The modern day story with a gay agenda most of us did not care for.
A 13 yr old who wants to commit suicide?! I couldn't finish it and that's rare!
This for sure went on all our top favorite's list
Amazing story of what she overcame and what's it's like to be a moslem in the Middle East and Africa.
True story about New Orleans and Katrina. It's good but not on my favorite's list. If you want to know what it was like during and after Katrina for those who stayed to help then this is the book for you.
I gave this book a thumbs down because of the lack of charater development and how pointless and shallow they were. I thought the historical part was interesting to imagine what life would be like if I was living in a country that was conquered by another and what would happen and what lengths I would go to survive and thrive in that environment. We should have some interesting discussion but I think it'll be brief and will focus on that later point.
This book will put you in Hungry and what is was like to be Jewish in WWII. I personally can't imagine having lived through what the Jews lived through during Hitler's rein and all the anti-Semitism at that time.
This could really open a spiritual discussion for your book club.
