Stolen Lives: Twenty Years in a Desert Jail (Oprah's Book Club) by Malika Oufkir, Michele Fitoussi
Boring, Insightful, Poorly Written
Stolen LivesThis is a compelling and fascinating story, but the writing is so poor that it disappoints. I saw Malika on the Oprah show and bought the book because of that. I thought the writing just grew more and more amateurish as it progressed, which is too bad as it was an interesting topic.

Dramatic, Dark, Insightful
American PastoralNo one can write a sentence like Philip Roth. Fascinating, compelling and just so dare good you can't explain it.
