My Reviews
Although this hasn't changed any of my political views about IVF or stem cell research, I enjoyed the story overall. It was a good tear-jerker and an easy read. It also made for good group discussion within my book club.
Most of us really enjoyed the book. It was a page turner and the ending was an awesome twist. Noone saw that coming. We were divided however on how we thought it ended and who survived the fire. It was definately a good book club discussion.
This book started off great, right from the first page you are sucked in and the main character is very enjoyable. However, about mid way through the book, it became a bit too predictable. The author sets up the events to come and made them a quite obvious for me. A little more mystery could have taken it along way. Overall I enjoyed the story and found it to be an easy read.
We really enjoyed discussing this book, we all found it to be very informative and captivating and thought the author shared equal perspectives from both sides of the debate.
I didn't enjoy this one at all, I found it to be rediculous and unlikely. I didn't care about or connect to any of the characters. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Total fluff. Boring...
In 5 years of book club, this is by far still my favorite pick! The shenanigan's the author finds himself in and his artful way of relaying it to the reader is spectacularly captivating! I literally laughed out loud, and cried! I have passed this book around to at least a dozen people and I don't know anyone who didn't love it!
It was a little slow moving at times, although to be fair I listened on CD and didn't particularly care for the voice of the reading. But, all in all I found it to be very interesting and I admire her strenght all though she certainly made some questionable decisions during the journey. I listened to the ending of the book twice because it was so touching and cried both times! I really like the ending...
