My Reviews
Being a newlywed myself I identified with a lot going on in this book - not the fact that their marriages weren't legal the first time around but those classic male/female conflicts and struggles along with different personality traits and issues brought to the relationships. I would highly recommend it for anyone in a relationship whether it's dating, engaged, or married. I'm sure I would've enjoyed it as a "single" reader as well. It was just an all around great read for us ladies. Fun and entertaining but full of real issues in friendship, family and relationships.
I absolutely loved this book and the fact that it was non-fiction made it even better. As we follow Elizabeth through her soul-searching journey about life, love, and faith we learn and reflect along with her as to how different cultures influence the often fine line between pursuit of pleasure and discipline. We explore different faiths and cultures. We wrestle with her through her internal struggle between being true to one's self vs society...change...hope...and ultimately love. This is one of the few books I would read again. It was phenomenal.

Winston explores the real and raw emotional struggles in marriages as her characters battle infertility, aging and temptation. How do you support someone who won't let you in? How do you share with someone who you assume won't understand? Should you force it, keep trying, give up or give in? Just when I thought it was predictable, Winston satisfied me with something new or different.
