My Reviews
Although it was not a book I would have chosen, I found I really enjoyed it.. I loved learning the historic interest of the Masons, Shriners and Washington D.C. It makes one eager to visit Washington D.C. and locate the symbols within...
This book was not my cup of tea...it has so many women in the friendship I found myself bouncing back and forth from the beginning to the end trying to identify each woman in the group.
It was not relaxing for me to read as I am the same age as the women in the book and am now living through much of the same experiences in my life. It was not a "get away" to relax, it was more of the things I have been through in my own life.
I think I would have been able to appreciate it a little more had it been written from by a woman, allowing more feeling and heart in the storytelling aspect.
This book brought to sight many things that were missing in my educational classes growing up... I really enjoyed the fact that it came from the point of view of someone there and also the point of view of someone with interest to find out exactly what happened in France...
The book switches back and forth through two narratives, which makes it move quicker and also breaks up some intense moments allowing the reader to recover between chapters ...
Very unrealistic at times...slow moving.. too much of the same thing going on at the rehab center..repetative...I did not like the ending...
I liked the book.. I'm selfish though and I do not agree with not sharing the illness with his family...It wasn't a book I couldn't put down..but it wasn't a book I felt like I wouldn't want to finish either
I was so drawn into this book...the way the book flowed back and forth with the things that lead up to a child contemplating taken their life..heartbreaking ... but worth the read.. teaches us and reminds us how to be kind, act kindly and live kindly...
If this were a sort story it might have been better. The ending didn\'t really decide anything.
Loved this book... In the beginning it seemed there may be too many characters wit backgrounds to keep track of, but the intertwined beautifully and it was easy to keep them straight.
The storytelling kept me wanting more and the epilogue... Oh my goodness! Made me gasp out loud...
I liked this book. It was a light read. Good for the beach or relaxing.
