My Reviews

Netherland: A Novel by Joseph O'Neill

Difficult, Unconvincing, Pointless
Netherland

I loved the writing style of this author. He strings words and phrases together beautifully and is very descriptive and creative. Although the info about the game of cricket was a bit boring, the characters, the cultural aspects, and the NYC setting made for a good story. This is probably a novel for people who like literature and literary analysis, as opposed to just a great story.

Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosnay

Sarah's Key

I really enjoyed this novel. It is a nice story and well written. I preferred Sarah's voice to Julia's voice because it captured both the innocence of her age as well as the depth of the despair she endured. I was shocked however that I had never heard of this event. Made me feel a bit ignorant. I would definitely recommend this novel.

The Blind Assassin

One of the best novels I've ever read! It's challenging to read but most great literature is. Atwood has a beautiful voice that deeply touched me.
