My Reviews
I found the Pact easy to read with very poignant moments. The story line centered on teenage suicide which you often hear about (unfortunately) and always wonder why? The author does a great job of taking you through a fictionalized account of young love, suicide, and family tragedy. This story was at times both touching and heart rendering.
I liked the book and would recommend it to book clubs. I was put off a bit by the language in the book- certainly not what Julia Child would have expected from a protege!! Overall the book was a fun read. I also just made my first recipe from Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Julie Powell's description of the creation of the recipes was addictive!!
