Very interesting read. At times it was very emotional reading about the difficulties in the characters lives. In reading the book you felt that you were right there with them.
A very well written book that took you on a journey from South America, China, and the United States.
After you read this book you will understand why it is a timeless classic. Beautifully written.
The subject matter of this book was very interesting and worthy or a good discussion. However the love story woven throughout the story was a little to much.
A very quick and easy read that focused on the hard life of two sisters. While this may sound depressing it really wasn't. There were many humorous parts.
A little difficult to read at first because it is told from a 5 years old point of view. Once you get used to that it is a great book about a child and his mother who are confined to a 11 x 11 room. This story line leads to a lot of discussion.
