My Reviews
Intimate perspective on the world of the '60's in the South, painting a vivid picture of the roles of women, race, and class, in that transitional era. Great insights into what binds us and what holds us apart from eachother.
Well written, intelligent mystery with enough twists to keep you guessing. Though the violence is disturbing and graphic, it portrays the dark side of sexual domination and develops complex female characters who find very different ways of coming to terms with the aftermath of this violence in their lives. Not a book for the faint of heart.
Extremely well written. A compelling story of love, family, and Life flourishing under difficult circumstances. An intriguing window into the nature of Self v. Other set in rural Ethiopia during a time of great political change.
