My Reviews
March by Geraldine Brooks
Interesting, Informative, Slow
A great compliment to Little Women. I would recommend it for readers who are familar with Little Women.I love historical fiction, and this was a great book. I thought that Brooks did a great job of flushing out Mr. March, a character barely seen in Little Women. I also felt like I got some insight to Marmee and how Mr. March's absence and choices effected her and the girls.
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Informative, Dramatic, Insightful
the lives of 2 Afghan women are entertwined between the 1950s and present dayI have read The Kite Runner too and I preferred this book by far although our book club opinion was split. While the content was sometimes difficult to stomach, it was enlightening to see how women in Afghanistan live even is this is fictional. My heart goes out to them.
