Sarah's Key

This book was very interesting in that it showed a facet of the Holocaust that I had never heard of before. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it for the most part. However, it isn't a happy read and anyone reading it should be prepared for the sadness of it. It gave a realistic and believable picture of the events and it really made me think -- to me, that's a good book!

Gloomy and depressing

This book kept my attention and was an easy read, but I found it depressing. I know life can be depressing at times, but I, personally, don't prefer that sort of thing for my distraction and relaxation activities. However, it was well written and very realistic.

Interesting and thought-provoking

This book is well-written and maintained my interest overall. There are deeper levels of meaning throughout the book that the author did a good job of explaining,as well. The weakest point, I thought, was the one chapter towards the end that lapsed into preaching. The intended message was plain throughout the book and I thought this was unnecessary...and even somewhat weakened the message! Overall, I liked the characters and the two main characters were well-developed. I would encourage others to read this story!

Frustrating and unrealistic!

I have to say that the idea of the story could really have held my interest. Unfortunately, the poor choices and unbelievable naivete of the main character was frustrating, at best. To further add to my disappointment, in spite of all her poor choices, everything ALWAYS worked out sugar sweet and nice. Please. It's great to have a nice happy ending, but it would be nice to have a LITTLE reality!

Maybe the cover pic is selling this one...because the story is BORING!!!

I do not understand why anyone is suggesting this book, unless maybe they have not actually READ this book. The premise is cute, but it sure doesn't work out in actuality! An author really needs to consider who is going to be reading their book when they write it, and this one did not. How many women are going to be glued to the pages of a how-to-keep-your-racecar-on-the-track manual?? And how many times do we need to listen to a dog whine that if he only had opposable thumbs or a voice, he could save the world?? And that just isn't enough for me to waste my time reading. I mean, I just said it in one sentence. Whoops! Two sentences. How can you make a whole book out of that? Well, silly me, someone did! But it was a book that I literally found myself sleeping headfirst in...and more than once!
