My Reviews
The book "Gods in Alabama" was quite an appealing read. I enjoyed the twists and turns of Arlene's personality and her "struggle" with the ones around her that she loved most. All of her relationships were complicated, especially the one with herself and the one with God. I recommend this book with no reservation if you are looking for an easy, enjoyable read with minor "suspense" and an unpredictable ending!
Great book. The time and energy Lalita Tademy spent researching this story and learning more about her family history is impressive and I appreciate how she made all of the characters come to life through photos, factual documents and written statements. Very well done.
What an amazing and beautiful story Khaled Hosseini told! You wonder whether Amir ever truly felt remorse for his actions as a child and whether that drove him to his "acts of kindness" as an adult. This is by far the best book I have read in several years and look forward to more!
