While set in a near future dystopia, this book is really about relationships between parents and children. Those looking for hard-core sci-fi or heavy political commentary won't find it here. Nor is the ending all tied up in a bow. Instead it is a beautiful book about what ties a family together and the bonding between a mother and her child.
