My Reviews

Middlesex: A Novel by Jeffrey Eugenides

Interesting, Dramatic, Epic
History of a Hermaphrodite

This is a great story woven with history and unexpected twists. Well written from the viewpoint of the main character and his quest to understand how, why, and what he is. He details his family history and involvement of many fascinating characters from a small village in Greece, through the riots in Detroit, into the underbelly of society and out again. A compelling read for all.

The Alienist by CALEB CARR

Interesting, Informative, Dramatic
The Alienist

This is a page turner that kept us all glued to the reading. We all liked the book and loved the captivating style of writing. It's a continuous thriller.

Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk

Shocking, Gross, and Hilarious

This book is not for the weak stomached, ill-at-ease. It is disgusting, shocking, and well afterward, hilarious. The stories make for an interesting discussion, although I would not recommend it for all groups. This is one of my all time favorite books and I love his style of writing, and I admit it's not for everyone.
