My Reviews

Interesting, Inspiring, Insightful
Slow to start and hard to follow in some places

The book started out slow, but then some character building made the book more interesting. During the character building it did seem to jump around to different characters more than I would have liked and it also jumped around in time as well. Most of us in our book club had just finished reading Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah and it was really captivating and hard to put down. This book was not the same way. (spoiler for both books if you keep reading) The death and cancer theme was also not something we really wanted to read again after all of us crying for Firefly Lane so it was a bit of a dissapointment. The characters also didn't capture us as much as the previous book so we weren't as saddened by the end result, maybe that was a good thing.

Not everyone in the book club finished the book and barely got started as the beginning was tough. It wasn't a great pick for our first official book club book. (Firefly Lane was a House Party pick for us).
