Thought-provoking story set in a period of transition for both blacks and women in America.
An easy to read story with humor about a serious subject. A victim herself of a car accident, the main character feels guilty for the death of her passenger. As she works her way through the items on the dead woman's list of things to accomplish before her 25th birthday, she opens up her life to new experiences, thoughts and feelings.
This memoir makes many of our parents look pretty darn normal and our own parenting skills a-one. I wonder if there are some secrets the author did not reveal.
Ready to book the next flight to Italy after reading this book. Appreciated the author's description of the scenery and the food she enjoyed. Had more difficult time with her time in India. Enjoyed her time in "love" mode. Also appreciated that she did not hide who she was, emotional, psychological warts and all, from the reader.
