My Reviews
The Book of Fate, by Brad Meltzer is a good read but left me with a sense of unfulfilled promise. The plot is grand and intricate, the premise intriguing. However, I felt that many important details were either left out or edited out. I wanted more depth of character in Nico, The First Lady, and others. I wanted to hear the discussions that led to the discoveries of information or clues pertinent to the characters and their motives, more AH HA! moments if you will. The Free-Mason thread should have been more a part of the fabric of the story... I had difficulty seeing the incredibly fast pace with which everything was supposed to have happened in the characters demeanor. It was only occasionally when someone would mention something about what happened "yesterday" that I could really get a sense of the quick passage of time. I think that insane events like these happening in someone's life would be very stressful, exhausting, emotionally draining. I did not get a good sense of that. Brad Meltzer has promise as a great Author but in this case needed more room to acomplish great story.
