My Reviews
It took me a couple of chapters to get used to the style, but then I greatly enjoyed the book. There were some funny episodes and lots of thought and ideas from the 2 main characters that gave lots to think about and discuss.
Great insite to Alzeheimer's Disease. It's told from the perspective of the person diagnosed with the disease. Hard to read at times as you see the person progress with the disease, but informative and insightful at the same time. We had lots to discuss in our meeting!!
The book is about a young family from a small town in Mexico and their experiences crossing the border to America. Their trips across the border are scary and harrowing. It gave us empathy for these immigrants, whether they come illegally or not. They face dangers in the crossing and in living here, and they were just trying to find a better life. While we don't think people should be allowed to come here illegally, we still need to see them as people, not aliens, and try to find a better way to work things out.
