My Reviews
I was a little reluctant to read this book, because of the subject and the fact that it was a sequel. However, I found it to be very interesting, well written and enjoyed it so much that I am now reading the first book, The Deep End Of The Ocean.
Don't let the title fool you; this queen is anything but heretic. She is awesome. I love the Michelle Moran books and I love the fact that this book is so different from her first book, Nefertiti. Great read.
Very deep, graphic and weird!
I loved this book!
Heartfelt story portraying the point of view of "the help", black ladies working for white families in the era of the freedom movement in Jackson, Mississippi. You can't help, but fall in love with the kind Aibileen and the spunky Minny! I hated for this book to end.
After all of the hype leading up to this book, I found it very disappointing.Little Bee's journey is compelling, and her story is ghastly, but Cleve's rendition of African refugees is a little understated.
Fantastic historical fiction, showing the impact on the lives affected by the building of a cathedral in the 12th century. Long book, but well worth the time!
A quick uplifting, romantic read. Growing up without a father and a dysfunctional mother, I could really relate to Merideth and found the book to be parallel with my views on family and faith.
Hilarious! Keeley throws a southern "hissy fit" after catching her fiance and best friend together the night of their wedding rehearsal; leaving her to deal with the back lash of her "hissy fit" and making her step back and take a look at her past. I laughed out loud!
One of the best books I have read in a while! This book is the first in a series of six and has everything, time travel, romance, religion, magic, history, action, sex, violence, love, betrayal and more rolled up in one. A must read!
