My Reviews
Another fun Ceepak & Boyle adventure. I love Chris Grabenstein's writing style and characters. Can't wait for the next one!
This book was definitely addictive--I couldn't put it down (and that was a good thing, because I had over half of it to go the day of my book club!). I thought it was very well-written and the author did a great job of drawing you in, getting you acquainted with the characters, leaving you guessing, and then letting you have it at the end. I really enjoyed reading "Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter."
It grabbed me from the first chapter. Very well-written, and it was great to hear from the author!
Good story and very descriptive (which is both good and bad). It gave you a real sense of the time, surroundings, and occurances...but that also made the book drag by at times. Overall I enjoyed it. I'm interested to see what happens next, but haven't decided for sure if I'll read another of her novels.
It was pretty cool seeing the vidoes Lora showed us beforehand with Anne Perry telling her side of things. I always
Did he do it? Did he not? Did he do it? Did he not? You're guessing through the whole thing, and then BOOM! The ending comes out of nowhere. Great book.
The general concensus from our group was "Loved the book , but hated everybody in it." I read the last 350 pages in one day because I couldn't put it down. Talk about twists and turns! Every time you thought you had it figured out...WRONG AGAIN! Creepy, but fantastic!
This was an up-and-down read for me. I'd like a chapter, then not like one. I was more interested in what would happen with the boy than who dunnit. There were also a lot of errors that the proofreaders missed. If your main character's name is Ambler, don't call him Amber. I might read the next book, just to see if things improve a bit.
