My Reviews
This is an interesting look into the depression and character of a great president. It was difficult for many members of our group to get into the book but we had good discussion despite the difficulties. I would recommend this book to clubs that may want to try something with strong historical and psychological themes.
This book was beautifully written and suspenseful. Many of our members could not put it down. The twist ending caught all of us off guard and gave us plenty to discuss!
When I chose this book for my book club, many of my members had doubts about it. They thought it would be contrived or silly. All of them, however, were wrong! They all loved the book and most members read it in a couple days...or 5 hours.
The book was interesting, heartfelt and suspenseful. Enzo's view of life was inspirational and caused the reader to look at things in a slightly different manner. We highly recommend this book!
Since the new Baz Luhrman film The Great Gatsby came out this month, our club was excited to re-read this book from their high school days. We all enjoyed visiting this intriguing era in our country\\\'s history and exploring the greedy, unfulfilled lives of Fitzgerald\\\'s characters.
The majority of my book club members found this book just okay. They enjoyed the historical aspects and the lovely writing but did not fall in love with the story.
